A modern industrial wedding in the Walzhalle Basel – that's exactly what S & D wanted for their big day. Juicy figs and plump, dark blue grapes surrounded by berry-colored floral arrangements. No, I'm not talking about a dessert buffet, but about a wedding that perfectly combined modern wedding design with the raw industrial architecture of the Walzhalle Basel. From our very first meeting, I knew that this couple had an exceptional style and very individual ideas for their wedding.
The location, the wedding designer & the photographer team
It didn't take long for us to find the perfect wedding venue: the Walzhalle Basel in Münchenstein. An industrial hall with charm, endless possibilities, first-class catering, and a wonderful team. Wedding designer Natascha from Rosepepper Weddings joined the team early on and developed an impressive decor concept tailored to the couple. With her eye for detail and her unique ideas, she was exactly the right person to work alongside S & D. The day was captured by the friendly photographer and videographer team Mastrosanchez.
A wedding concept for a modern industrial wedding in dark colors
The wedding itself was rather untraditional and unconventional. After the talented makeup artist Xaya applied a very individual look to the beautiful bride, the couple had their first look in the intimate setting of their home. Afterwards, they went to the venue, where they could see the decorations created by Natascha from Rosepepper for the first time. The floral centerpieces in orange, dark red, purple, and a hint of pink, along with the sliced figs and dark grapes, stood out beautifully against the black tablecloths. The striking steel beams, large windows, and industrial charm of the rolling mill provided the perfect contrast to the opulent floral arrangements and the black tablecloths. This resulted in a modern wedding design with a unique, almost mystical atmosphere. The welcome sign, designed to match the table decorations, looked as if it had been carved directly from the concrete wall.
The wedding day
Afterwards, the bride and groom greeted the arriving guests together. They had deliberately chosen to forgo a ceremony, simply wanting to celebrate with their loved ones and enjoy their time together. DJ Csaba provided the soundtrack for the aperitif with Ibiza-inspired music. For the subsequent meal, guests were seated at round tables. The food was served buffet-style, like at a street food festival, on a Piaggio Ape (a three-wheeled vehicle). Outside in the garden, guests could help themselves to pizzas from the wood-fired oven, and the finest baklava was served for dessert. The party traditionally kicked off with the Halay. Within minutes, the dance floor was packed, and the festivities continued late into the night.
The Walzhalle in Basel Münchenstein is one of the most exciting wedding venues in the region. With its industrial architecture, high ceilings, and spacious rooms, it offers the perfect setting for modern industrial weddings and exceptional wedding concepts.
